Blog Action Day is on October 15th. On this day bloggers from all around the world will post articles on a single topic which will be the Environment. The point is to get people thinking and discussing about one topic on one day that effects all of us. I have loved doing this blog over the past couple of months but I have to move to more pressing issues in my life and career. In trying to Change the World I need to begin taking more action which is what I plan to do.

I am going to have this post up for a few days with a final message.

Look outside yourself. I have written many posts on being introverted or extroverted and various charities, groups and organizations; about character and humanity; about people and the way the world interacts with you and you the world.

My idea I want to present to you now is to see the extroversion inside of you (isn’t that a contradictory statement). I have said before that there are people who can travel the world and be in incredible places and experiences and not even look outside themselves.

The reason I love to stare up at the stars or watch the sun rise and set is because it reminds me of my place in the universe. I am nothing without those around me as far reaching as the other side of the world. A person is nothing without other people. To look only within yourself is to not except the power and importance of those who you may not even know.

To live solely for yourself is vain but to live for yourself and the world is empowering. Helping those outside your own comfort zone actually has benefits for all, including yourself. The Golden Rule is called golden for a reason.

As I sit here outside by a fire, after having a long-and-great conversation with an old friend who just left (came to keep me company while I am sick), I remember the most important aspect of my life is other people. Without them life would be meaningless so to devote myself to others brings me great and fulfilling Life Meaning.

I say tomorrow, you wake up and do your usual routine. Drink your coffee; tread mill for fifteen minutes; whatever. But then during that day I want you to try something. Try following an old rule of the Boy Scouts and do a good deed for someone else in that day. A good turn for someone else in the long run is a good turn for the world and yourself.

It does not have to be a great and powerful showing to your fellow man but a simple gesture of selflessness can bring a great change if done enough by enough people. It could even Change the World.

After only three weeks past the launch date, Blog for Squares dot com has now reached over a thousand visits!

This is pretty substantial considering the lack of marketing we have done in this time frame. In trying not to obsess over statistics like I have on other sites, and just focusing on writing, I haven’t actually looked up the data in a while so it was a pleasant surprise to see 1001 visits since launch last month.

I put together a facebook group for Blog for Squares dot com just for the hell of it. Check it out and join the facebook group if you have a profile. It’s open to anyone.

Through reading ProBlogger I stumbled upon a new really innovative idea for the online community to raise awareness. This is something I will be definitely be involved in and hope others who read this and have their own blog will follow too. What the concept is, is a Blog Action Day in which bloggers from around the globe write on a topic to better our world. The first topic for October 15th is the Environment and the Blog Action Day website calls on a mass amount of bloggers from all over the world to write about the environment in their own right, how they view it.

There has been a media frenzy lately on the blogosphere about how it is comprised of amateurs. This may be true to a certain extent but amateur does not mean idiot. Blog writers are becoming the new source of information and readers are responsible to check the source just like with a periodical or television news network. Now this is an out of the ordinary idea to get the amateurs and the professionals, the elite and common man all talking at once about the problems this world faces. It could have a major impact. A little about myself? Sure. I am Warren Greeley, a writer from the Chicago land Area who is also a web and graphic designer. My company that I co-founded and now hold the title of Creative Services Director is Clarity Media.
